AKA make the grade for Ascent 142

Ascent 142 has just installed the new Digital Vision Nucoda HD grading system and commissioned AKA Design to design and install the prestigious new suite.

Due to increased demand for HD Grading, Ascent 142 recently added the powerful Nucoda Filmaster to its range of grading tools. “We decided that one of our existing suites would be a perfect location for this installation and needed to repurpose that room as quickly as possible.” explains Director of Post Operations Johnny Whitehead. “We already had an AKA desk installed in that room and Guy was able to provide us with a cost effective solution to accommodate the desk’s change of purpose. We needed to keep disruption to a minimum which AKA helped us achieve by turning the entire job around within 5 days. The end result is a desk with modern styling that works perfectly ergonomically and which fell well within our budget for the project.”

“The suite had delivered eight years hard work and it’s now ready for the next eight” added Guy Wilson, AKA Design’s Managing Director. “We had the CAD plans for both the desk and Nucoda panels, which enabled us to CNC out the new tops and equipment casings allowing us to realise our client’s tight deadline.”

The desk was finished in slate grey Nextel, solid walnut lippings and was complemented with an aluminium coated frame. The revamped suite looks like it was always designed for grading and the desk sits well in Ascent’s clean and modern interior.
